Iran to Participate at IWF World Championships in California
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will send eight participants to the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships.
The competition will be held from Nov. 28 through Dec. 6 in Anaheim, California, USA.
Kianoush Rostami and Ali Miri in 85kg, Sohrab Moradi and Ayyoub Mousavi in 94kg and Behdad Salimi and Saeid Ali Hosseini in +105kg are Iranian representatives in the prestigious event.
Ali Hosseini last competed internationally in the 2006 Junior World Championships where he took gold in the men's 105+ category.
While Ali Hosseini is the junior world record holder for the snatch, clean and jerk, and total in the super heavyweights, he was popped for PEDs (performance enhancing drugs) twice in the late 2000s.
