IPL: Persepolis, Esteghlal Emerge Victorious
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian popular football teams Persepolis and Esteghlal defeated their rivals in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Saturday.
Persepolis moved up to top of the table after defeating Pas Jonoubi 1-0 in Jam.
Ali Mosleh came off the bench to score a late winner for Persepolis.
In Tehran, Esteghlal defeated Gostaresh Foolad thanks to two goals Farshid Esmaeili in 63rd and 85th minutes respectively.
Elsewhere, Zob Ahan lost to Foolad 1-0 in Isfahan, Tractor Sazi defeated Sepidrood 2-1 and Saipa edged past Siahjamegan 1-0 in a controversial match.
Persepolis sits top of the IPL table with 27 points, followed by Pars Jonoubi (25), Paykan (24) and Foolad (23).
