Iran’s Enemies Waging Economic War on Iran: Shamkhani

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani warned of enemies’ plots to undermine the country’s economy and public welfare by waging an economic war against the Islamic Republic.

Speaking at a meeting of the administrative council of Kordestan Province in western Iran on Monday, Shamkhani warned that economy is the country’s vulnerable point.

Today, the Islamic Establishment’s enemies are trying to undermine public welfare in Iran through imposing “an economic war” on the country, he said.

He further emphasized that implementing the Resistance Economy policies is the only solution to the current economic conditions of the country.

Shamkhani also called on Iranian officials to race to aid the country in attracting internal and foreign investments.

Back in August, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani vowed to take fundamental steps to combat unemployment and improve the country’s economy based on the policies of the Resistance Economy in his second term in office.

In 2014, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had sent a proclamation to heads of Iran’s branches of power and outlined general policies to boost the country’s economy and lower its vulnerabilities under a grand plan, dubbed Resistance Economy.
