Iran Renews Call for All to Honor JCPOA
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has fully carried out its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, stressing that continuation of the nuclear agreement hinges on US compliance with the deal.
In a Twitter post on Wednesday evening, Zarif called on all parties to the JCPOA to live up to their obligations.
“Conferred with FM Lavrov in Moscow today; on to Brussels to engage with E3 FMs & EU High Rep Mogherini. Everyone agrees it is imperative that ALL live up to their obligations under JCPOA. IAEA has verified Iran's full compliance, but continuation will depend on full US compliance,” the top Iranian diplomat tweeted.
Zarif travelled to Moscow on Wednesday to hold talks with his Russian counterpart before a trip to Brussels for a meeting with European diplomats on the JCPOA, the nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany)
In Brussels, Zarif is going to meet with European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini and the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany to discuss the latest developments regarding the JCPOA.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as E3+3) reached a conclusion over the text of the JCPOA in July 2015 and implemented it in January 2016.
In all of its reports since coming into force of the JCPOA, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has verified the non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran as well as the Islamic Republic’s commitment to the nuclear deal.
