Yemeni Forces Pound Saudi Positions in Taiz, Najran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The forces of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi-led coalition, shelled Saudi military sites in the kingdom’s southwestern border region of Najran and Yemen's Taiz Province, inflicting heavy casualties on them.
The Yemeni army and Popular Committees destroyed two Saudi mercenaries’ military vehicles overnight in Makha district in Taiz province, a military official told Saba News Agency on Saturday.
An armored and a pickup vehicle were destroyed north of Yakhtel in Makha, the official noted.
In the meantime, artillery corps of the Yemen’s army and Popular Committees continued overnight to shell Saudi army and its mercenaries’ gathering sites in Najran border province, a military official told Saba on Saturday.
The artillery shells targeted Saudi-paid mercenaries’ gathering sites and fortifications in Abasah and Shabakah near Khadhra crossing point, causing heavy casualties upon the enemy ranks.
Furthermore, the Yemen’s artillery corps targeted Saudi soldiers and mercenaries' gatherings in Talaa and Sela gate, inflicted heavy casualties upon them.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for almost three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
