Yemen Army Inflicts Losses on Saudi Mercenaries in Hajjah
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s army, backed by Houthi Ansarullah fighters, targeted the positions of Sudanese mercenaries in a district in Hajjah, killing and injuring several of the Saudi-backed forces in the northwestern province.
Yemeni forces shelled the gathering centers of Sudanese mercenaries in Midi district in Hajjah on Saturday, inflicting major losses on them, a military source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Saba news agency.
A number of the Saudi-sponsored militants, including their commanders, were killed in the shelling.
In the past two weeks, more than 32 Saudi mercenaries have been killed by Yemeni troops in the Midi district, the official added.
Such attacks against the Saudi forces come in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the coalition led by the Riyadh regime.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
