Iran Loses to Serbia in VNL

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Serbia in a thrilling 3-2 (21-25 25-22 27-25 20-25 15-11) in Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on Sunday.

The defeat means Iran is now just playing for pride in the VNL - but Serbia marches on and remains very much in the mix.

Aleksander Atanasijevic smashed through the 32 point for Serbia while Milad Ebadipour led Iran with 21 points.

“It was a big fight and a big win for us, this was so important for us mentally,” said Marko Podrascanin who finished with nine points. “We need to forget this now and concentrate on Poland.”
