Ex-Iran Keeper Haghighi on the Verge of Joining Saipa

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Former goalkeeper of the Iranian national football team Alireza Haghighi is on the brink of joining Saipa football club.

Mohammad Reza Akhbari will likely part company with the Iranian football club and Saipa is looking for a replacement for its goalie.

Saipa goalkeeping coach Behzad Gholampour says nothing is certain yet but they will sign Haghighi if Akhbari leaves the team.

Haghighi has already worked with Saipa current coach Ali Daei in Persepolis and they have good relationship.

Haghighi represented Iran in the 2014 World Cup, where Team Melli drew 0-0 with Nigeria, lost to Argentina 1-0 and suffered a 3-1 defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
