Iran Police Attend Army Games in Armenia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A team from Iranian Police Force is in Armenia to take part in the International Army Games 2018, being jointly hosted by seven countries.

Military athletes from six countries have attended the competition in Armenia’s city of Dilijan.

Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan attended the opening of the games on Saturday.

Sports teams from Iran, Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Greece and Kazakhstan are competing in five fields in Dilijan.

In the meantime, a team from the Iranian Air Force’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Unit has gone to Kazakhstan to take part in the International Army Games there.

Iran itself is one of the hosts of this year’s Army Games.

In comments on Friday, Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Main Combat Training Department Lieutenant-General Ivan Buvaltsev told Rossiya-24 TV Channel that Russian Defense Ministry has sent out invitations to all NATO member states to participate in the games.

“This year, we have sent out invitations as usual to NATO member states. But only a team from Greece will take part,” the general said.

The International Army Games will run until August 12 in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
