Yemen Army Downs Saudi Spy Drone over Jawf

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni air defense units shot down a Saudi-led reconnaissance drone in flight over a border area in the Arab country’s northern province of Jawf.

Yemen's Saba news agency, citing an unnamed military source, reported that the drone was shot down over the province’s Maslop district, Jawf province.

The army troops also destroyed a military vehicle in Khap and Shaqf districts, an official added.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the military campaign.
