Fuel Shortage in Yemen Leaves Drivers Lingering In Streets for Hours (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Yemeni capital of Sana'a was hit by a major Fuel shortage due to the Saudi blockades which has left drivers queuing for hours just to get a can of fuel from overcrowded petrol stations.

Severely restricted imports due to fighting in the port city of Hudaydah as well as a Saudi blockade have accounted for much of the fuel shortage.

The Red Sea port reportedly accounts for around 70 percent of Yemen's basic commodity imports, including that of oil.

A plunge in the value of the Yemeni rial against the dollar has also reportedly seen fuel prices double on the black market in the past week.
