Hezbollah Condemns Terror Attack in Iran’s Ahvaz

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack in the Iranian southwestern city of Ahvaz, saying it was orchestrated by “satanic and malicious hands” to destabilize Iran.

“The terrorist attack was perpetrated by satanic and malicious hands in a bid to destabilize Iran and punish the Islamic Republic over its sticking to be a fully sovereign state and rejecting subordination to the United States,” Hezbollah said in a statement on Sunday, Al-Manar news network reported.

“This crime is a direct response to victories achieved by the honorable axis of resistance on several fronts across the region,” the statement added.

The attack “was the extension of war waged by the US, allies and its puppets, on top of which are the unjust sanctions and the unfair economic siege.”

However, Hezbollah stressed that “such crimes will neither affect the Islamic Republic nor its power, political and military presence” in the region.

During a military parade in Ahvaz, which was staged concurrently with nationwide military parades on Saturday to mark the Sacred Defense Week, Takfiri militants wearing disguise opened fire at the people participating in the ceremony.

The political deputy governor of Khuzestan Province, Ali Hossein Hosseinzadeh, put the latest death toll from the attack at 25, saying 60 others have been injured.

According to media reports, the Al-Ahvaziya terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
