IRGC: Ahvaz Terror Attack Mastermind Killed in Iraq’s Diyala


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The mastermind of a September terrorist attack in Iran’s southwestern city of Ahvaz has been killed in Iraq’s Diyala province, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced.

In a statement on Tuesday, the IRGC said the “resistance forces carried out a reconnaissance and surprise operation in Iraqi’s Diyala on Tuesday morning”, killing the chief plotter and mastermind of the terrorist attack on the military parade in Ahvaz that killed 25 Iranian military forces and civilians.

The target, Abu Doha, an emir (local commander) of the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group, and four other terrorists were killed in the operation, it added.

During the military parade in Ahvaz on September 22, Takfiri militants opened fired on military officials and ordinary people in the event. Twenty-five people died and 60 others were injured in the terrorist attack.
