Multiple Explosions Hit Afghanistan’s Polling Stations in Kabul (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Afghan capital was rocked by multiple explosions that targeted the polling stations across Kabul on Saturday, causing dozens of casualties.
At least 30 people were taken to hospital including a dead child, hours after the Taliban warned voters to boycott the ballot "to protect their lives".
NDTV reported that Afghan officials confirmed there have been casualties but would not provide a number.
Footage shows smoke billowing out of a voting center in Kabul’s 15th district as voters and passers-by look on and Afghan soldiers arrive on the scene.
The elections, which are already three years late, have been marred by violence and delays.
