Persepolis Defender Mahini Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Persepolis football team's defender Hossein Mahini successfully underwent knee surgery to repair a torn left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

The Persepolis vice skipper underwent surgery in Tehran’s Noorafshar Hospital on Monday.

Mahini will be released on Tuesday.

Mahini sustained an injury in the match against Esteghlal in Tehran derby in late September.

As expected, Mahini's season is over after the incident.

He will return to the field in May.

Mahini’s absence is a huge blow for Persepolis since the Reds are banned from the signing players until January.
