Yemenis Inflict Losses on Saudi-Backed Forces

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Forces of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees targeted Saudi-backed mercenaries in Kingdom’s Jizan and Najran provinces as well as the western coast of Hudaidah on Saturday, killing and injuring a number of them, according to a Yemeni military source.

Yemeni army and Ansarullah forces conducted two separated military operations near Jizan province that ended up in killing and wounding a number of mercenaries backed by Saudi coalition, Al-Masirah reported.

Meanwhile, the army and popular forces launched several rockets at the gathering positions of Saudi backed militia during the operations, inflicting losses on the Saudi-backed enemies.

Three Zelzal 1 ballistic missiles were also fired at a Saudi post in Al-Hubah village in Jizan Province, and destroyed a Saudi military bulldozer east of Jabal Ad Dod with artillery shells. Artillery units and army forces targeted gatherings of Saudi-backed mercenaries in Ruq'ah, Al-Sud hills in the Al-Marzaq area near Jizan and Al-Sadis base in Najran.

Furthermore, the air defense forces of the Yemeni army downed a spy plane belonging to the Saudi military in eastern Al-Dood Mountain in Jizan.

On the west coast of Yemen, a military source stated that Engineering Unit of Yemeni Army launched an operation that targeted military vehicles of Saudi army in Attohayta district of Hudaidah, killing and injuring a number of Kingdom’s forces.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its allies have been pounding Yemen — already the Arab world’s most impoverished nation — since March 2015 to restore a former regime that they favored.

More than 15,000 people have died since the onset of the invasion. At least 40,000 have also been injured and more than three million displaced.
