Anthony Stokes Cancels Tractor Sazi Contract

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Irish striker Anthony Stokes canceled his contract at Iranian football club Tractor Sazi on Thursday.

The 30-year-old striker, who scored eight goals for the Tabriz-based football team in 11 matches, left the team in international break and didn’t return to Iran to participate at the team’s training.

Stokes has parted company with Tractor Sazi and left Iran for Istanbul.

Scottish striker Lee Harry Erwin had already left Tractor Sazi because of feelings of homesickness.

Tractor Sazi is a favorite to win the Iran Professional League for the first time in history but the team is now facing shortage of forwards.
