FM Zarif: Iran to Remain Reliable Supplier of Oil to India
NEW DELHI (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif assured India that it can rely on Iran to fulfill its oil demands.
According to Tasnim dispatches, Zarif told reporters upon his arrival here on Monday that “Iran has always been a reliable supplier of oil to India, and will remain so.”
The Iranian minister, who is in India with a diplomatic and business delegation, said he is accompanied by representatives from Iran’s private and state-run sectors.
Praising the “very good” relations with India even after the re-imposition of the US sanctions against Iran, Zarif said the two countries signed a perfect banking agreement in autumn which facilitates the process of bilateral trade, exports and imports.
“There are numerous grounds for the expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and India, one of which relates to Chabahar. Indians are interested in working on Chabahar and on Iran’s transit infrastructures,” he added.
In his three-day visit, Zarif is planned to hold meetings with top Indian officials, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and deliver a speech to a multilateral conference dubbed the Raisina Dialogue.
