Iran Committed to Islamic Revolution’s Slogans: Lebanese Cleric

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary General of the International Union of Resistance Scholars Sheikh Maher Hammoud hailed the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution’s victory and said the country has adhered to the slogans chanted during the post-revolution era.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution, which has entered its 40th year, led the Muslim world to a new stage whose positive points fanatics cannot understand, Sheikh Hammoud said, according to the Arabic-language Al-Manar TV.

“Iran has adhered to the slogans of the revolution, including support for Palestine over the past forty years,” he said.

This is while many chant slogans in support of Palestine and its national unity but very soon abandon their slogans.

On Monday, Iranians plan to attend nationwide rallies marking the 40th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979, ending the 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.

Every year Iranians mark anniversary of their Islamic Revolution from February 1 to 11, known as the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies. On February 1, 1979, Imam Khomeini returned home from years of exile in Iraq, Turkey and France.
