Over 70 Syrian Civilians Killed, Injured in US Airstrikes in Deir Ez-Zor
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least 70 civilians were killed and injured after the US-led coalition on Tuesday targeted residential areas in a town in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province.
The civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in Baghouz after US-led military aircraft bombed a civilian camp in the town in Deir ez-Zor, SANA reported.
The death toll is likely to rise as most of the wounded sustained serious injuries.
The US and its allies have been bombing what they call Daesh positions inside Syria since September 2014 without any authorization from the Damascus government or a UN mandate.
The aerial assaults, however, have on many occasions resulted in civilian casualties and failed to fulfill their declared aim of countering terrorism.
