Germany Assists Iran with Flood Relief Efforts

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Germany’s ambassador to Tehran said his country is going to provide disaster relief aid for Iran by delivering boats and safety equipment in the wake of recent floods.

“German Foreign Ministry provides humanitarian assistance to flood victims in Iran. 40 boats and safety equipment will be delivered by German Red Cross to Iranian Red Crescent,” Michael Klor Berchtold said in a Twitter message on Monday night.

Record rainfall that has battered Iran in the past week has caused serious flooding in many areas in the western provinces and forced thousands to leave their homes.

Residents in vast areas of the province of Lorestan inundated by flood are in dire need of relief aid by air rescue teams.
