Yahya Golmohammadi Candidate to Coach Iran’s U-23 Football Team

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Padideh coach Yahya Golmohammadi has been nominated to replace Zlatko Kranjcar in Iran’s U-23 football team.

The Football Federation of Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) will reportedly part company with Iran U-23 football coach Kranjcar.

Under guidance of the Croat, the Iranian team earned a spot in the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 Finals as one of the best second placed teams.

Now, the Iranian federation will reportedly part ways with the coach following poor result in the competition held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Iraq qualified as the first team after playing out a goalless draw with Iran.

Golmohammadi, who has shown a good performance with Padideh in the current Iran football season, is a nominee to replace the Croat.

With five weeks remaining, Padideh sits fifth in the table and also has a chance of winning the title for the first time.
