Yemeni Forces Bring Down Saudi Drone in Najran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Yemeni army and its allied forces from the Popular Committees shot down a Saudi Arabian pilotless aircraft in the kingdom’s southwestern region of Najran on Sunday.
The reconnaissance drone belonging to the Saudi-led military coalition was shot down by the Yemeni forces in Al Abu Jbara district in Najran, southwest of Saudi Arabia, Al Masirah TV reported.
Also, the Yemeni Army fired a Badr-F ballistic missile at the positions of Saudi mercenaries in ‘al-Istiqbal’ camp in Jizan.
According to a military source, the ballistic missile attack has left several Saudi-led forces killed or injured.
On Friday, Yemen’s Houthi forces shot down a massive drone over the Sa’ada countryside when the intruding aircraft was circling their positions near the Saudi border with the Sa’ada Governorate.
Since 2015, the US has provided aerial refueling of jets, reconnaissance, targeting and intelligence information to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in their campaign against Yemen.
Saudi Arabia and a coalition of Arab governments have launched more than 19,000 air raids across Yemen.
The aggression on the Arab world's poorest country also has left millions suffering from food and medical care shortages and has pushed the country to the brink of famine.
Air raids by the Saudi-UAE coalition have hit civilians, hospitals and water treatment facilities. Aid groups estimate as many as 60,000 civilians have been killed in the war and as many as 85,000 children starved to death, with millions more "one step away from famine".
