Yemeni Forces Fire Ballistic Missile on Saudi Positions in Najran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Yemeni army and popular military forces fired a ballistic missile at a Saudi military position in the kingdom’s southern region of Najran.

A military source said the Yemeni fighters fired a Zilzal-1 ballistic missile at a center used by the Saudi mercenaries in al-Suh region of Najran on Wednesday, Arabic-language al-Masirah TV reported.

The missile attack killed and injured a number of Saudi-led forces, the source added.

In another operation, the Yemeni forces hit a military bulldozer and a vehicle of the Saudi mercenaries with a guided missile at Najran’s al-Talaah region.

Moreover, the Yemeni army’s snipers shot dead two Sudanese mercenaries in Midi in northern parts of Hajjah Governorate on Wednesday.

Yemen has been under massive attacks by a coalition led by the Saudi regime for more than four years.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The ongoing Saudi-led war on Yemen has caused the world's largest humanitarian crisis, with 24.1 million people - nearly 80 percent of the population - in need of humanitarian assistance, the UN said.

Tens of thousands have been killed, and the country is on the brink of famine.
