Iranian Taekwondokas at Manchester World Championships


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian taekwondokas will participate in the 2019 Manchester World Taekwondo Championships.

A total of six women athletes will represent Iran in the competition, while eight taekwondokas will participate in the men’s division.

The women’s team consists of Mahla Momenzadeh, Nahid Kiani, Parisa Javadi, Yalda Valinejhad, Kimia Hemati and Akram Hemati. The team will be headed by Mahroo Kamrani in the event.

Armin Hadipour, Mohammad Hassan Palangafkan, Soroush Ahmadi, Mirhashem Hosseini, Amir Mohammad Bakhshi, Mehran Barkhordari, Erfan Nazemi and Sajad Mardani will feature Iran’s men’s team. Fariborz Askari will lead the team.

In total, 975 athletes from 150 countries and one refugee team under World Taekwondo’s flag will be competing in 16 weight categories.

The Manchester 2019 World Taekwondo Championships will take place in Manchester, Britain, from May 15-19.
