Yemeni Drone Strike Hits Saudi Airport in Jizan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement launched a drone strike on military hangars in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan airport near the Yemeni border, a report said.
Yemen’s al-Masirah television network reported the strike on Sunday morning, without giving details about possible casualties or material damage.
On May 22, the Yemeni forces launched a similar retaliatory drone attack and targeted hangars housing the kingdom’s warplanes in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern Najran region.
The Yemeni air force and air defense units, backed by fighters from Ansarullah movement, have repeatedly hit Saudi and Emirati vital facilities in retaliation for their ongoing aggression against their impoverished Arab country.
Both Saudi and Emirati officials have denied any attacks by Yemeni troops. Recently, Yemen's Joint Operations Command Center released footage verifying a retaliatory attack on the Abu Dhabi International Airport carried out last year, which had been denied by officials of the United Arab Emirates.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by a Saudi-led coalition for more than four years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
According to a recent UN report, the combined death toll from the Saudi-led aggression and disease is 233,000, or 0.8 percent of Yemen's 30 million-strong population.
