Top General: Iran Playing Vital Role in Settlement of Mideast Issues

In a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of passing away of Imam Khomeini, Major General Baqeri said, “It must be mentioned that expansion of Iran’s strategic depth and regional might has created new and unimpeachable conditions in a way that today, no issue in West Asia could be settled without Iran’s participation.”

He also said that formation of an Islamic resistance front in the region has created a nightmare for the Zionist regime of Israel in spite of all Western and Arabic support for it.

The general further made it clear to the enemies that “the Iranian nation will not back off a bit from (strengthening) the country’s defense power as the basic subject of the Revolution,” adding that Iran turns any hostile threat into a golden opportunity to broaden its defense and missile capabilities and will cut off the hands and legs of any invading aggressor.

While the archenemies of Islam, most notably the US, once relied on a group of renegades and mercenaries with a couple of aircraft for defeating Iran, they will now need a huge coalition of tens of hostile or intimidated governments for a political-security confrontation with the Islamic Republic, the commander said, stressing that if ever such an anti-Iran coalition is shaped, it will be doomed to defeat and humiliation.

In comments in April 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the US is aware of the crushing response it will have to face in case of taking military action against Iran.

The era of hit and run is now over, and the US knows that if it gets entangled in military action against Iran, it will receive much harsher blows, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.

The US is seeking a way to evade the costs of standing against Iran and place them on regional countries, the Leader said, reminding certain regional countries that if they confront Iran, “they will definitely suffer blows and defeat.”
