Iran’s Zarif in Nicaragua for Official Visit
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Nicaragua on the second leg of his tour of Latin American nations to hold talks with senior officials of the country on issues of mutual interest.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, Zarif arrived in Managua on Monday to hold talks with senior officials of the Central American country.
Upon his arrival, Zarif was officially welcomed by his Nicaraguan counterpart and two advisers of the country’s president.
After taking part in an annual meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York, Zarif visited the Venezuelan capital of Caracas to attend Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) foreign ministers’ meeting.
He also met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and First Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez.
The Iranian top diplomat is also slated to visit Bolivia during his tour of Latin America.
