Iran Drops Three Spots in Latest FIFA Ranking

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran dropped three spots but remained Asia’s top ranked team at 23 in the latest FIFA World Ranking, which was released on Thursday.

Asia's top fifteen were unchanged as Japan dropped five rungs to 33rd while Korea Republic, at 37th, remained as Asia's third highest ranked side.

Australia fell three spots to 46, while 2019 AFC Asian Cup champion Qatar was the biggest casualty as it dropped seven places to 62nd, three ahead of the United Arab Emirates, who completed the top five.

The biggest mover was DPR Korea, who improved its global ranking after jumping four places to 118th in the world.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be released on September 19.
