Iran Captain Marouf Not Satisfied with Performance against Egypt

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national volleyball team captain Saeid Marouf says that Egypt put them under a lot of pressure and they couldn’t survive in that moment.

Team Melli suffered its second defeat in a row at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup losing to Egypt 3-1 (22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 26-24) on Wednesday at Nagano White Ring arena.

“The first two sets weren’t so bad, we played good volleyball but we had a chance to close the second set and couldn’t use it,” Marouf said.

“When we lost that chance we played the other sets with pressure, and on the other side the Egypt team started to play much stronger than before and they put us under a lot of pressure and we couldn’t survive in that moment,” he declared.
