Iran’s Taftian Wins Gold at CISM Military World Games


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian sprinter Hassan Taftian took a gold medal at the 7th International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games on Tuesday.

He took home the men's 100m gold in 10.24, followed by Paulo Andre Oliveira of Brazil in 10.32 and Amaury Golitin of France in 10.35.

Iranian freestyle wrestlers Mohammad Hossein Mohammadian (97kg) also won a gold medal in the competition.

Yadollah Mohebbi (125kg) claimed a silver.

Nearly 10,000 military personnel from over 100 countries are competing in the games in central China's Wuhan.

The competition is scheduled to run through Sunday (October 27).
