Protesters Rally in Brooklyn against Police Brutality (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Nearly 1,000 people descended into the streets of Brooklyn, NYC, on Friday evening, to protest police brutality after the emergence of videos showing police officers fighting with teenagers inside two subway stations.

During their march, protesters stopped traffic, as they chanted slogans against New York Police Department (NYPD) officers. The protesters then stormed Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets station, where they confronted police and commuters near the platforms.

The demonstrations were triggered by two videos related to two different incidents and circulated on social media last week, which showed police officers punching a group of mostly black teenagers on a subway platform, in an attempt to break up a brawl.
