Official: Iranian Customs Facilitating Services for Knowledge-Based Companies

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian official said the Customs office at the southern port of Shahid Rajaee is providing domestic knowledge-based companies with special services to facilitate their foreign trade.

Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Affairs Sorena Sattari visited the Customs of Shahid Rajaee Port in the southern province of Hormozgan on Sunday.

During the visit, Managing Director of Shahid Rajaee Customs, Abolfazl Akbarpoor, said his office has been providing special services for Iranian knowledge-based companies.

Considering Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s emphasis on knowledge-based economy and given the fact that knowledge-based companies are the best tools of resistance economy, the Customs of Shahid Rajaee is working with more than 170 domestic knowledge-based businesses and facilitates their trade and processes, he added.

For his part, Sattari said more than half of the companies affiliated with the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs are working with the Customs and enjoy special services.

He also voiced his department’s readiness to cooperate with the Customs office in the technological sector for the settlement of problems.

Last month, Ayatollah Khamenei assured Iranian knowledge-based companies and the enterprises working on advanced technologies that he would do the best to remove obstacles in the way of the youths' scientific progress.

Back in March and after opening a specialized pharmaceutical plant in Tehran, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani assured the private sector of his administration’s support for knowledge-based projects and research activities contributing to national production.

“The administration will seriously support the whole private sectors in the field of production, particularly those doing knowledge-based activities and the activities on the basis of knowledge and research,” Rouhani said on March 21.
