Haitian Protesters Slam US for Supporting Corrupt Government (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of protesters marched to the US embassy in Port-au-Prince, capital of Haiti, as they clashed with police to decry the US administration support for the corrupt government.
During a visit by US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale on Friday, demonstrators set tyres on fire and threw rocks and other objects at security forces in a protest march to the US Embassy to call on the Trump administration to stop supporting President Jovenel Moise, who is named in the latest corruption report issued by Haiti's Superior Court of Account and Administrative Disputes.
Haiti has been crippled by protests since September, over demands for the president to step down over a corruption scandal.
