Zarif Promises Support for IRGC Quds Force

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif pledged that his organization will continue cooperating with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force.

The top Iranian diplomat released a message on Friday after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei appointed Brigadier General Esmaeil Qa’ani as the new commander of the IRGC Quds Force.

In his message, Foreign Minister Zarif lauded the late commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Major General Qassem Soleimani, as a “glorious general of Islam and Iran”.

He also wished General Qa’ani success in the new post, stressing that the Foreign Ministry will keep working in cooperation with the incoming commander and with the IRGC Quds Force like the past.

The White House and the Pentagon confirmed the assassination of General Soleimani in Iraq, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of US President Donald Trump.
