Relief Organizations Carrying Out Operations in Flood-Hit SE Iran (+Video)


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian relief organizations are providing flood-hit areas of southern and southeastern Iran with essential humanitarian aids and carrying out rescue operations.

Iran’s Red Crescent Society, the forces of the IRGC and Army as well as governmental organizations rushed to aid people in flood-stricken areas of south and southeastern Iran after heavy rainfalls affected almost all people in the region, especially is Sistan and Balouchestan, causing massive damages to villages, roads, infrastructures and agricultural areas.

Most parts of the cities of Chabahar, Nikshahr, Dalghan, Konarak, and Sarbaz are also affected by floods and their communication is cut off.

The Red Crescent Society of Iran has so far provided around 35,000 affected people with medical and humanitarian aids.

The IRGC forces have also delivered 10,000 family assistance packages, and other necessary equipment to the areas.

The unprecedented flash floods have hit around 350 villages in recent days, damaging thousands of residential buildings.
