Coronavirus Death Toll in Iran Hits 66
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The death toll from the COVID-19 outbreak in Iran rose to 66 on Monday, with the confirmed cases of infection surpassing 1,500, the Health Ministry announced.
It announced on Monday that the number of the suspicious coronavirus cases who have tested positive has reached 1,510.
The ministry said out of 7,280 people who have gone to medical centers across the country so far, 4,312 are suspicious cases.
While the death toll from the novel respiratory disease in Iran has reached 66, at least 291 patients have recovered, it added.
Health authorities have strongly recommended that people refrain from travelling.
The novel coronavirus originating from China’s Wuhan has killed over 3,000 people worldwide, the vast majority in mainland China. There have been more than 88,000 global cases.
