Iran Making Arrangements to Bring Back Students from Italy: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said efforts are underway to facilitate the return of Iranian students from Italy amid the critical situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic in the European country.

In an interview with IRNA, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said the Foreign Ministry is holding consultations and making arrangement to take the Iranian students back from Italy with three flights, two from Milan and one from Rome.

He said the Foreign Ministry and the Iranian Embassy in Rome are coordinating efforts with the Health Ministry and with Iran Air to facilitate the return of students with Iranian flights.

Mousavi said the idea to operate extraordinary flights came after a large number of Iranian students in Italy asked the country’s Embassy in Rome and the Consulate in Milan for help to return to Iran.

The spokesman further noted that all students have been informed of the regulations ratified by the Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters during the trip to Iran and after entering the country.

Italy, the world’s worst-hit nation, is now reporting an overall death toll of over 22,000.
