President of Iranian Seminaries Sends Letter to Int’l Religious Leaders


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In a letter to fifty religious leaders across the world, the president of the theological schools of Iran expressed the country’s readiness to share its experience in handling the novel coronavirus with other countries.

President of Iran Seminaries Ayatollah Alireza A’rafi sent the letter to fifty religious leaders and international figures in different countries.

In his letter, the senior cleric said the country’s readiness to share experiences in the battle with COVID-19 with all other nations.

Among the recipients of the letter are head of the Catholic Church Pope Francis, Grand Imam of Egypt’s al-Azhar University Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed el-Tayeb, Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh, and Director-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay.

Last week, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution Saeed Reza Ameli sent a letter to a number of major religious leaders and organizers of social campaigns in the world, proposing the establishment of a joint committee of world religious leaders to figure out how to help people across the globe amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
