Iranian Wrestler Alireza Karimi Out for Six Months


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian freestyle wrestler Alireza Karimi has been ruled out for six months after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

Karimi tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on his left knee in the 2019 World Wrestling Clubs Cup held in Bojnurd, Iran in December.

On Sunday, he underwent successful surgery at the Arman Hospital in Tehran and can recover within six months.

The 97kg can participate in the Olympic qualification after his recovery.
