Iranian, Emirati FMs Discuss Regional Issues
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The highest-ranking diplomats of Iran and the United Arab Emirates discussed the latest regional developments in a telephone conversation.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held the conversation with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday evening.
The two foreign ministers congratulated each other’s nations on the beginning of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.
Zarif and Al Nahya also talked about the latest regional developments, the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak, and other issues of mutual interest.
First detected in Wuhan city in central China in December, the corovirus has spread to all over the world, infecting nearly 3 million people globally.
Iranian Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoosh Jahanpoor announced on Sunday that 5,710 people have died of COVID-19 in the country.
While the number of people tested positive for the coronavirus in Iran has exceeded 90,000, more than 70,000 positive cases have recovered from the disease.
