Iran’s Intelligence Forces Smash 2 Terrorist Teams in West


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Intelligence Ministry forces identified and smashed two terrorist cells affiliated with “separatist” groups in the western parts of the country.

In a statement late on Wednesday, the Intelligence Ministry said it tracked and spotted the “separatist” terrorists who had crossed the western border in the western provinces of West Azarbaijan and Kurdistan.

It added that the intelligence forces have arrested 16 members of the terrorist teams and confiscated 2 AK-47 rifles, 1 handgun, 2 grenades, and some ammunition.

The terrorist teams had entered Iran to carry out acts of terror and sabotage in the country, the statement said.

It added that the ringleader of the terrorist group is based in Europe and enjoys the support of one of the reactionary Arab states in the region.

Some Arab countries have been supporting acts of terrorism inside Iran and have backed terrorist teams carry out several terror attacks in western Iran.
