Iran Ready for Closer Cultural Cooperation with China
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s ambassador to Beijing voiced the Islamic Republic’s readiness to boost cultural and social interaction with China over issues relating to women.
In a meeting with Director of International Department of All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Mu Hong, held in Beijing on Wednesday, Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Keshavarz-Zade said Iran is prepared to promote and strengthen the cultural and social relations among Iranian and Chinese women.
Pointing to five rounds of cultural dialogue that the Iranian and Chinese women have held in the past, the envoy expressed Iran’s readiness to resume the negotiations after defeating the coronavirus outbreak.
The ambassador highlighted the leading role of women in Iran, saying a vice president is in charge of the issues relating to women and family affairs.
Keshavarz-Zade also noted that Alzahra University, a female-only state-run university in Tehran, is prepared to sign memorandums of understanding with China Women's University to enhance cultural and artistic cooperation between the women of the two nations.
He also highlighted the prominent role of Iranian female doctors and nurses in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.
At the end of the meeting, Mu Hong said All-China Women's Federation would donate 50,000 face masks to Iran amid the outbreak of coronavirus.
