Syria Army Reinforces Positions to Fight Daesh in Deir Ez-Zor (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian army troops have reinforced their positions south of Raqqa in order to prepare for combat against the Daesh (ISIS or ISIL) terrorist group in Deir Ez-Zor,

Syrian soldiers have intensified their presence near the village of al-Thawra, some 55 km (34 miles) west of Raqqa, before commencing preparations for an operation against Daesh in Deir Ez-Zor province.

Daesh terrorists recently amped up their attacks in both Syria and Iraq, taking advantage of the coronavirus pandemic as well as taking a little help from the West to go against the Syrian and Iraqi armed forces in the region.

While Daesh terrorists have lost territories in both Iraq and Syria between 2017 and 2019, it has since then been relying on sleeper cells to carry out attacks between the desert region of both countries.
