Iran’s Defense Minister Hopes for Muslim Unity in Eid Message


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In a message to his Muslim counterparts on Eid al-Fitr, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami hoped for strong unity in the Islamic community.

The Iranian defense minister on Sunday sent separate congratulatory messages to his counterparts in Iraq, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, Indonesia, Algeria, Malaysia, Nigeria, Mali, Tanzania, Chad, Bosnian and Herzegovina, Senegal, Tunisia, Mauritania, Yemen, Bangladesh and Niger.

In his message, Brigadier General Hatami expressed hope that the holy Muslim festivity at the end of the month of Ramadan would be a source of closer unity and solidarity among all Muslims in the world and result in success for Islam in various arenas.

Eid al-Fitr, also called Feast of Breaking the Fast, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world at the end of Ramadan.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, marks the most special of all occasions.
