Anti-Racism Protest at Oxford Demands Removal of British Imperialist's Statue (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Protesters gathered at Oxford University to campaign for the removal of a statue of 19th-century British imperialist Cecil Rhodes.
Rhodes claimed the region of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe and Zambia) on behalf of the Crown in the late 19th century.
The protest comes after demonstrators pulled down a statue of a leading slave trader during an anti-racism protest in the southwest English city of Bristol on Sunday.
