Over 140,000 Cases Recover from COVID-19 in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of people who have recovered from the novel coronavirus in Iran has exceeded 140,000, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in Iran has risen to 177,938 following the detection of 2,011 new cases since yesterday.
Of the new cases detected since yesterday, 811 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.
At least 140,590 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far and have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman said.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 8,506, saying the disease has taken the lives of 81 patients over the past 24 hours.
The spokeswoman also said more than 1,151,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 7,343,000 and the death toll has exceeded 414,000.
