TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi said the Islamic Republic and neighboring Iraq have plans to boost relations in all arenas.

In a post on his Twitter account, Masjedi said Tehran is fully prepared to welcome Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and his delegation on Tuesday.

The envoy also noted that the two Muslim neighbors are going to broaden ties in all fields.

“The borders of the two countries are borders of friendship and mutual cooperation,” Masjedi noted.

Prime Minister of Iraq will pay a visit to Iran with a ranking political and economic delegation on Tuesday before travelling to the US.

In his two-day visit, Kadhimi is scheduled to hold meetings with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
