Coronavirus Updates in Iran: 2,625 New Cases Recorded in 24 Hours


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran registered 174 deaths from the coronavirus and 2,625 new cases on Thursday, the Health Ministry said.

"In the past 24 hours, 2,625 new cases have been recorded. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 336,324,” the ministry’s spokeswoman, Sima Sadat Lari, said during her daily press briefing.

She added that with 174 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus now stands at 19,162.

The spokeswoman also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 292,058.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 20.8 million and the death toll has exceeded 747,000.
