Large Amounts of Weapons Left behind by Terrorists Found in Syria’s Hama


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian authorities on Friday found a large amount of weapons and ammunition belonging to terrorist groups in Salamiyah countryside of Hama province.

SANA reported that that during sweeping operations of the areas liberated by the Syrian army in the Salamiyah countryside, the army units found large amounts of weapons and ammunition left behind by the terrorists in the region.

The report added that the army engineering units found large amounts of IEDs of various shapes and sizes during combing operations in the agricultural lands of al-Sathayyat, Qubbat al-Kurdi, al-Hanita and Fritan villages in al-Salamiyah countryside.

On August 6, the Syrian army in the southern region found more than 180,000 bullets, including 14.5, and 12.5 machinegun ammo, in addition to hundreds RPG fillings and shells as well as US-made shells, Israeli-made mines, heavy and medium machineguns and RPG launchers.

Last June, authorities found weapons, ammunition, medical equipment and medicine left behind by the terrorist groups in the southern region.
